For those who would like to share their Internet access,. Not only can the 5005RA serve as a 4 port switch for creating your 10/100Mbps network, it also has IP Sharing and network security features, making it the most complete router solution available. Serving as an advanced firewall, the 5005RA prevents hackers from entering your private network.
As a router, the 505RA is compatible with any operating system with a web browser, including MACs, PCs, and Unix machines. The 505RA is compatible with all these operating systems because it uses web based configuration. The WAN port may be connected to the incoming Cable/DSL/Ethernet signal with up to 253 client computers connected directly or through other hubs and switches to the 4 10/100Mbps ports on the 505RA will then assign IP addresses using it's built-in DHCP server, allowing client computers to receive TCP/IP settings directly from the router.
